AUTUMN TREND 01:
WARM NEUTRALS

Inspired by artisan craft and slow living, interiors are embracing the understated beauty of imperfect pieces and warm, calming shades.

Warm tones of clay and terracotta make a palette that is purely natural.

Paired with darker accents they create a scheme that champions imperfection and celebrates the handmade.

The look is relaxed and simple with colours working in harmony.

Aim for an unrefined and rustic aesthetic to nail this trend, which is comforting and enveloping.

Simple and versatile, the earthy palette works in any space, whether it’s a rustic kitchen or contemporary bedroom.

Organic materials, including rattan, bamboo and linen, paired with artisanal elements, like dried out flowers and wheat to enhance the serene, laid-back feel of the colours and instantly create an inviting space to rest and regenerate.

AUTUMN TREND 02:
LAYERED DECOR

A layered interior look mixes contrasting patterns across the scheme, harmonising the eclectic mix with different scales of print, using one or two grounding common tones to pull all the patterns together.

Mix large-scale wall decor with small-scale decorative details to create playful layers.

Layer comforting cushions, knitted and sheepskin throws to make any space feel instantly inviting.

This approach will see you through the winter and still light enough to see your home fashionably dressed ready for spring.

Blankets, throws, cushions and rugs are a straightforward way of incorporating different fabrics and textures.

You may also consider changing your curtains to a heavier winter fabric such as velvet or lined cotton, to add to the cosy feel of the room.

Consider layering rugs too, either do a tonal choice or mix a sisal rug with a kilim rug for a pop of colour.

AUTUMN TREND 03:
READING NOOKS

Creating a dedicated reading space is possible no matter the size of your home, even in small living spaces.

Signify a welcoming reading corner within a living room by positioning a floor lamp to zone a dedicated area.

Decorating the space with plants is not only good for the look, it can also help to improve the space for a reading environment.

You don’t need to make your reading corner too obvious, if you so choose.

Create a subtle space to escape with a good book by placing a chair in a calming spot when needed.

Surround the area with books, magazines and comfy blankets and cushions, so all you will need to add is a lovely hot cup of tea!

AUTUMN TREND 04:
NATURE INSPIRED INTERIORS

Nature inspired interiors will always be a top autumn home decor trend but as people have had to spend more time at home because of lockdowns, inviting nature in is more important than ever.

Adding pops of burnt orange, muted yellow and forest greens can awaken feelings of nature.

An affordable way to achieve this is by swapping out bed linen, cushion covers in the living room and decorating with autumnal colour decor and art.

Look to nature for free design accessories too, making use of pine cones and dried flowers fits perfectly within autumn home decor.

By making simple and transitional changes to your interior not only keeps you inspired, but gives a new lease of life to your interior for the season.

Don't forget to add plants and foliage for colour and freshness, even succulents will work if you are looking for a low maintenance option.

AUTUMN TREND 05:
DARK GREEN

Jewel tones and deep hues are a big autumn home decor trend and included in that is deep, velvety, delicious shades of dark emerald green.

Being the beautiful and rich colour that it is, deep green can make a big impact in the tiniest of details.

Try bringing it into your home with pillows covers for the bedroom and throws and cushion covers in your living room.

Dark green complements neutral colour palettes, so you won’t need to change your entire decor to accommodate for this colour!

Alternatively, adding this hue into a monochrome interior will make it feel luxurious and sophisticated.

AUTUMN TREND 06:
ROOM DIVIDERS

Room partitions aren't just useful, the right one can introduce texture, dimension, and colour into a room.

Whether it's the illusion of privacy, some decorative personality or a small-space solution, a room divider might be just what your space needs.

Folding screens, especially antique ones, tend to boast intricate designs and textural elements.

This means they function as sculptures and works of art, too.

A customised floor-to-ceiling bookshelf can function as a room divider while also providing extra storage and display space.

AUTUMN TREND 07:
MIXED MATERIALS

Mixing textures is a key way for interior designers add interest and personality to a space.

When leading into the colder months look to mix hardy textures such as wood, leather, marble and brass with softer fabrics such as mohair, cashmere, cotton and sheepskin throws.

Consider adding unique wall-hangings and accessories, such as macrame made from rope, string or twine, to add a beautiful and natural element to your home.

Mixing these materials together will result in a warm, textured and inviting interior.

AUTUMN TREND 08:
CURVED FURNITURE

Adding curves in to your room whether big or small helps soften the feel of the space.

They help to define a room and create an intimate area for conversation.

In tight spaces and small rooms, curved furnishings can help open things up.

Try a sleek curved table in a petite entryway, or a round ottoman in place of a sharp-edged coffee table.

The sofa is where everyone gravitates to and it’s a great statement piece for a living room.

Bringing in curved furniture is guaranteed to make an impact and something unique if you’re considering a more contemporary look.

AUTUMN TREND 09:
CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC

Contemporary classic interior style is a skilful and refined mix between minimal chic contemporary furniture and the neoclassical look.

The key elements to make up a contemporary classic interior are: floors with marble or parquet, the use of special decoration on elements such as boiserie and decorative frames, soft and luxe curtains, upholstered furniture with capitonné decoration and chandelier lighting.

A classic contemporary home has warming colour tones such as white, beige, caramel, light blue and dusty pink are the most used shades.

Think luxurious when it comes to materials and make use of velvets, silks and cashmere.

AUTUMN TREND 10:
SILVER HOME DECOR

Nothing brings sparkle to a room like the shimmer of a timeless metallic.

Silver decorative accessories are a perfect way to accessorise your home this season however, steer away from chintz and create a subtle look with quirky styles.

A metallic silver art piece will look sleek and stylish positioned in the centre of your chosen feature wall and will act as a focal point to draw the eye in.

Use silver in vases, candles votives, wall art, photo and mirror frames across your design.

Consider using antique silver effects on glass on mirrors to create a softer glow, especially in low lighting.
